The USCAR / EWCAP team has been working with Dupont and
Clariant to develop a color guideline that can be used by
all connector suppliers to determine if a molded component
falls within an acceptable color range. This guideline is
intended to give an auditor a quick way of determining color
acceptance without tying them to a specific shade. We have
developed charts for the following colors; gray, green,
brown, blue, red, yellow, and orange. The charts have a
fairly wide range covering what we consider light and dark
variations of each color mentioned. The purpose of this
guideline is to simplify quality control activities between
the connector supplier and their customer, or between the
connector supplier and the material supplier.
USCAR would like each of the suppliers to start using the
color guideline at each design and manufacturing location.
